Structure & Controls Planning - 24 Month Graduate Programme

Our team is seeking a graduate to join the structure and controls planning team within the Exterior Surface Centre. You will support the Product and Structure Planning teams as well as our Production Specialists with project related activities for existing and new model / structure projects.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead and support facility, equipment and controls projects within the Exterior Surface Centre.
  • Project management from facility and equipment constraint analysis, concept, financial and detailed project planning through to implementation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Define, evaluate and plan future controls strategy and specifications.
  • Design and manage internal control projects.
  • Identify and check feasibility of new equipment and controls technologies based on market observations, best practises within industry and benchmarks with other plants.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and refurbishment requirements to ensure continued facility availability.
  • Integration of new and existing production equipment based on continuous improvements and requirements defined by production requests, process or product changes.
  • Carry out project risk assessment and management.
  • Review concept maturity and change requirements throughout project phases.
  • Track work package progress and milestone adherence in project timeline.
  • Support the New Model product planning team with their implementation plans.
  • Support maintenance team and control engineers with production equipment and infrastructure upkeep.
  • Provide production tracking information as required and create internal applications.
  • Gather and assess data for evaluations, constraint analysis and continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct structure and controls invest analysis.
  • Steer project procurement and contractor management.
  • Monitor asset management.
  • Review and update structure layouts and engineering drawings.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree completed with a 2:2 or above in Automotive/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering or similar course.
  • Experience with MS Excel / Office Suite, VBA, SharePoint, Power BI and other business analytics tools.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Able to show initiative and work independently.
  • Microstation or similar drawing package experience is required.
  • Experience with technical drawings and software is preferred (ie. Catia, CAD).
  • German language skills are advantageous.
  • To be eligible for this position you need to have achieved a 2:2 grade or above in your Bachelors or a Pass in your Masters and be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK, if you are not a UK passport holder.
