Job description

A graduate programme at JLR gives you access to some of the most innovative and visionary industry experts, networking opportunities and invaluable industry insight. By the time you finish the programme, you’ll play a vital part in JLR’s future and build the exceptional long-term career you’ve proved you're capable of.

Arrive with ambition. Grow with freedom.

Data Analytics Cross Functional Programme

We’re analysing the future of movement and then using our insights to create a competitive advantage via data-driven design. Our data and analytics create value, forge profitable growth and make the business more efficient and agile by delivering quick actionable insights.

Joining our industry-leading cross-functional programme, you will rotate across digital, commercial and human resources as you work on high-profile projects, learn from experts and senior managers, and enjoy dedicated development days. You can also decide to work solely within our finance data analytics team.

Digital

At the heart of this highly entrepreneurial team, you will contribute to pioneering projects, solve complex commercial challenges and influence every aspect of our business. Whether you’re addressing global programmes, organisational design and delivery costs or quality targets, your digital solutions will create real insight, enabling more effective decision-making.

In your first year, you will build your skills in problem structuring, data wrangling, modelling and visualisation, data science and analytical strategy before developing a key specialism (data science, data engineering, data analytics or data office) in year two. By the end of the programme, you will be familiar with making presentations at board level and may even have represented us at industry conferences.

Commercial

As the competitive landscape continues to evolve with increasing digital touchpoints, more connected vehicles and various ownership models, we are making continued strides in the transformation of our world-class brands – and data is at the core of this. Whichever area you focus on, you’ll help your commercial colleagues drive growth and simplicity by understanding our business and our customers – putting them at the heart of every decision we make.

You could find yourself operating in any of the following areas:

Global Customer Service

We are using industry-leading digital systems, data and analytics solutions to delight our customers at every step of their personal journey. Harnessing the power of data analytics, we positively impact our customers by creating fault-free experiences and enabling a service that gets it right first time, every time. In short, we put data at the centre of our decision-making so we can leverage every opportunity to grow our revenue and maximise efficiencies across our business.

Demand Planning & Reporting

At the heart of our global sales and operations processes, this team’s focus is on developing and maintaining management reporting and insights throughout the global commercial function.

UK National Sales Company

Connecting data across the business, you will support decision-making by colleagues at every level. Your deep data analysis and effective visual representations of your conclusions will make managers lives easier as they fully understand our KPIs and key challenges to find the way forward. Customer Analytics: Connecting data from all customer touchpoints, both physical and digital, we create ingenious moments for customers, using advanced technology and machine learning.

Finance Data and Analytics

Our finance team has the vital mission of delivering sustainable, profitable growth via key information to shape decision-making. We support JLR operations around the world, spanning engineering, manufacturing and commercial as well as adding value in core areas such as global finance services, treasury, financial planning, analysis and reporting, accounting and tax. Every day, we harness the benefits of data and analytics, capitalising on new insights to influence stakeholders across the business and shape the company of tomorrow.

In your first year, you will build your skills in problem structuring, data engineering and modelling and visualisation, using a variety of tools and software. At the end of your two years, you will have the opportunity to work in a number of different teams, and benefit from a secondment to another function or the data and analytics hub.

Rewards and benefits

Our 2024 graduate programme salary is £31,000, with a £2,000 joining bonus to welcome you to JLR. After two years, you will progress from the graduate programme on a £38,000 salary. In addition, JLR offer a generous holiday allowance, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, excellent pension provisions and access to a wide range of deals and discounts from well-known retailers and sports clubs.

Once you’ve successfully completed your graduate programme, you can look forward to a long-term career with us. The role you take on will depend on your performance, personal preferences and business needs.

You will be applying your curiosity and creativity every day as you begin to hone your skills for a successful, impactful career. You own your development, and only you can make it happen.
