Join our Maritime Services Team to become part of the only provider of complex warships, while providing the Royal Navy with its most advanced and powerful attack Warships. What you will be doing
Do you want to work on the largest warship ever in service with the Royal Navy, or a warship which has been upgraded and is considered one of the most advanced in the world? Do you want to challenge yourself to make a real difference and manage to work on complex systems your friends wouldn’t even understand?
As a Mechanical engineer undergraduate within the Warship Technical Authority, you will get the opportunity to work both with experienced engineers, where you’ll learn and develop, and where you can make a real difference on the ships and projects with the MoD. You will be directly involved in delivering the designs for capability, human factors and safety upgrades as well as resolving defects and ensuring the platforms remain safe to operate.
You will get to work alongside design teams, industrial partners and Navy personnel to get a real insight into how complex warships are maintained through life. Platforms include:
- QEC
- Type 45
- Type 23
- Hunt
We also provide the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of your primary remit. We encourage you to seek a stretch project in which you’ll gain different experiences. As part of this role, you will be required to go on-board to dynamically assess and problem solve issues as they arise and conduct material state assessment of equipment and systems as directed. You will get the opportunity develop in wider roles around the Warship Supporting teams on all Classes of Warship.
