About University of West London

Welcome to The Career University

At the University of West London (UWL) we’re dedicated to providing you with the skills and opportunities you need to succeed in your chosen profession.

We know postgraduate study is a big investment. That’s why, across our eight academic schools and two sites in Ealing, Brentford plus our Hub in Reading, we provide outstanding facilities and the highest quality teaching. We also take full advantage of our location in one the UK’s most successful business regions to provide invaluable access to key industry contacts.

It’s all designed to give you the edge in your career, whatever your chosen profession. What’s more we know it works.

Of course, whilst career prospects are important, so is your time studying at UWL. To ensure our postgraduate students have the best learning and social experience possible, we have invested more than £150m across our campuses in recent years. That includes updating our primary campus in Ealing – a site that now boasts new state of the art facilities, an on-site restaurant and a refurbished student union (voted best in the UK).

All this and more has made us London’s number one modern university.

Exceptional facilities

As a postgraduate student studying with us, you’ll enjoy the benefit of a university that’s constantly investing in our research, training and leisure facilities. Here’s a glance at just a few of our modern facilities:

The Savoy Suite

A generous grant from the Savoy Educational Trust allowed us to develop our state-of-the-art teaching and learning centre, the Savoy Suite. Designed exclusively for postgraduate students, the suite is equipped with computers, video conferencing technology, a theatre for lectures and presentations, a multi-functional space for group work and seminars, and a breakout area for socialising and relaxing between study sessions.

Mock Court Room

Opened in 2015, our mock courtroom gives students studying at our School of Law and Criminology a chance to practise mooting and gain legal experience in a realistic environment. The room is also used for legal training, teaching and events.

Simulation Centres and The Richard Wells Research Centre

The centres in Brentford and Reading provide aspiring nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals with an environment that replicates hospital and healthcare settings ensuring students gain the hands-on experience, specialist training and practical skills they need to succeed.

Meanwhile, The Richard Wells Research Centre offers students an invaluable resource at the forefront of innovative research.

Where to live

Our award-winning Paragon Halls of Residence provides purpose-built student accommodation at our Brentford site. It’s just a free shuttle-bus ride away from our Ealing campus. Or if you prefer, our accommodation team can help you find the ideal private rented accommodation nearby.
