School of Business and Law
About School of Business and Law
The School of Business and Law’s aim is to make a real difference to people, practice and society.
Our mission is to advance and support responsible enterprise for a fairer society through education, research, collaboration and thought-leadership. We promote inclusivity, social justice and employability, and prepare learners by engaging with industry.
The University of Brighton is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – an accreditation achieved by fewer than 6% of business schools globally. AACSB-accredited schools lead business and management education, industry engagement and impactful research.
Where we are
The School of Business and Law is based on our Moulsecoomb campus in the buzzing city of Brighton, on the south-east coast of England. We’re just one hour away from the UK’s capital – London, and just 30 minutes by train from London Gatwick International Airport.
What we do
Our teaching, research and consulting covers the full range of business, management and law disciplines including: strategy, innovation, operations, HRM, leadership, accounting, finance, economics and law.
Brighton Business School has a number of professionally accredited courses and strong connections to local businesses. Courses in the business school focus on building your practical experience through live client projects, work experience and an optional paid placement year.
Brighton Law School has strong academic teaching and research, is forward-thinking and places focus on social justice. You’ll gain practical experience through mooting, negotiations and client interviewing, as well as having the option to volunteer at our University of Brighton Legal Clinic.
We’re committed to the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and are a member of Enterprise Educators UK.
Paid work placements
Our dedicated placements team have a huge portfolio of employers offering global placement opportunities for our students. A placement gives you a chance to put your learning into practice in a real-life workplace, and demonstrate your capabilities to an employer.
International postgraduate students will qualify for our two-year international study visas. The UK’s Graduate Route visa also means after successfully completing your course, eligible students have the opportunity to continue adding to their work experience in the UK for a further two years.
Professional accreditations and exemptions
