About this role

Everyone knows how key data is to any business. Data helps influence change, demonstrate trends, and show a business what new directions to take. It is also fundamental to all forms of AI. Modern AI is programming with data. Working in the AI Research teams means you’ll be helping shape the future of AI in our business.

You’ll be joining a team of highly skilled AI and software researchers. You’ll learn to use the latest AI technologies and apply them to use-cases in the company. Working with the wider team, you’ll learn how to create new intellectual property and collaborate with relevant teams to demonstrate and test new AI methods that will help improve how we work and provide services to our customers.

You will apply your knowledge in machine learning, neural networks, data analytics and programming to evaluate and test the latest exciting AI developments and implement your own ideas that you develop in the research projects you will work in. Your work will shape AI adoption in BT by demonstrating the potential impact of emerging technology. You will also support the development of policy around the safe and appropriate use of AI.

Delivering high-quality results that use AI and data in a responsible and ethical way will be central to your role. You will contribute to patents, publications and presentations to create value from your research and disseminate it across the company helping decision makers pick the right research results for innovation and improve our ways of working.

We’ll give you on the job training and access to our internal learning platforms and the exposure you need to become a commercially savvy AI and software professional within the AI Research Team.
